Personal Portal Page
A personal portal page is a web page with links and information you frequently need access to. If you work on the internet a lot, like I do, a personal portal page is invaluable.
My personal portal page has:
-
Several dozen links to frequently accessed pages, like
- Control panels.
- Login pages.
- Generators.
- Reference pages.
- Frequently updated sites, like forums and blog aggregation sites.
-
A link to a popup containing my project time logger (a WebSite's Secret exclusive download).
-
Links to comics I enjoy.
-
On-page tools like a text to JavaScript converter and a Unix time stamp to human readable date and time converter.
-
Links to things I need to do every business day.
Links and other personal portal page elements can be categorized. For an orderly appearance, categorized sections can be hidden and revealed as needed.
Make your own personal portal page the way you would make a regular web page.
Design the personal portal page as you wish. Mine is plain and functional. But if you prefer to have it styled a certain way, make your page that way. If you would like photos of your loved ones on the page, publish them.
It is your personal portal page. Make it the way you want it.
The personal portal page can reside either on your computer's hard drive (if a regular web page, not PHP) or at a private URL on the internet for access with your various devices. In either case, it can be bookmarked or set as the browser home page.
Your personal portal page can contain anything you wish that can be published on a web page.
